Violent crime has always been an issue, and many dangerous outbursts have hit the media in recent years. With especially gun violence issues making headlines all around North America, what might not have expected a violent headline stemming from a crossbow attack. In Toronto, Canada, this nightmare became a reality in the district of Scarborough.
A neighbor, Jerome Cruz, said he had heard what seemed like the sounds of a fight followed by minutes of screaming.
Three adults, two men and one woman, were left dead and found in a Toronto home, with a fourth victim taken to hospital. Spokesman David Hopkinson stated that the victims had wounds from crossbow bolts and the ammunition was found in two of the bodies.
The scene could best be described as a fierce struggle, possibly even involving more weapons than just the crossbow. The shooter or shooters fled leaving the three victims to bleed to death.
Originally called in as a stabbing incident, the situation has left officers with many questions and a 35 year-old man in custody. It has been a difficult tragedy to understand, leaving David Hopkinson stating, “We don’t have any idea with regards to why this may have happened”. The man in custody reportedly remains unidentified.
